The clarity of the quartz matrix is a separate gemmological characteristic, evaluated independently of the banding sharpness. Premium chevron pieces combine both characteristics: sharp banding and clear quartz matrix.

This combination is a deposit-conditioned selection. Only a small proportion of the raw materials recovered meet both premium criteria simultaneously. Manual selection in the Brazilian workshops prioritizes such premium pieces for higher-quality cutting processes.
