Beautiful Selenite Heart from China

A selenite heart from China with a milky-white glow and a fine, natural structure. Depending on the incidence of light, the stone shows a delicate, moon-like shimmer.

Selenite is a fibrous-crystalline variety of gypsum with the formula CaSO₄·2H₂O. The parallel arranged fiber crystals conduct light along their longitudinal axis and create the characteristic internal luster.

The surface is smoothly polished. The light not only reflects off the outside, but also travels in fine paths through the interior of the stone. Each heart shows its own grain and light effect.
