The Moroccan Atlas deposits document ammonite faunas from the Devonian (approx. 350-410 million years ago) and the Lower Carboniferous. Goniatites and clymenids, early forms of ammonites with simpler septal structures, are typical fossil finds from these deposits.

The polished cross-section reveals the internal septal structure. Spirally arranged growth chambers, each separated by a wavy partition, make the geometric arrangement legible as a paleontological identification feature.

Its compact collector's size is suitable for classic desk or display case arrangements. Moroccan ammonites have been among the documented collector provenances since the 19th century.
