An Ammolite heart from Alberta, Canada, with clear iridescence and a clean heart silhouette.

Ammolite consists of the iridescent aragonite shell of prehistoric ammonites. In the Upper Cretaceous Bearpaw Shale, the shell was transformed into its current opalescent form approximately 65 million years ago through pressure and mineralization.

The fine breccia structures on the shell are authentic remnants of the original Bearpaw Shale and are indicative of Ammolite's authenticity.

Sealed with a resin layer to stabilize the thin aragonite layer.
