beautiful labradorite from Madagascar

A Labradorite Polishing Block from Madagascar with a blue-gold shimmer on the front and back. The craftsmanship was done locally, cut from a single stone.

Labradorite is a calcium sodium plagioclase feldspar. The characteristic labradorescence is caused by the refraction of light at microscopically thin lamellar layers in the crystal. The color is completely natural; the stone has not been dyed or lacquered.

The Madagascan deposits in the Maniry region provide material with particularly pronounced Schiller quality. A compact polishing block with iridescence on both sides and clear mineralogy.
