An illuminated Citrine Smoky Quartz Phantom Sphere from Zambia, with a golden-green hue and visible phantom layers. 23 cm in diameter, a museum-quality collector's size with complex internal stratigraphy.

Citrine and smoky quartz are both varieties of quartz and differ only in their trace element configuration. Phantoms document the transition between phases: in one crystallization stage, the material colored like smoky quartz, in another, it colored like citrine.

The golden-green hue is a rare deposit variant, in which traces of iron plus manganese or chlorite content create an unusual mixed coloration.

Zambian material from Kalomo is considered a premium source for such multi-color phantom quartzes. Grinding a 23 cm sphere from a suitable rough block and integrating internal lighting is a workshop masterpiece.
