An illuminated citrine crystal sphere from Zambia, 24 cm in diameter and weighing 22.3 kg. Within the honey-yellow quartz substance, internal illumination creates a warm light, making the entire crystal appear as a body of light.

Citrine is the yellow variety of quartz, colored by traces of trivalent iron. Zambian material from Kalomo is considered a premium source for naturally grown, gemstone-quality citrine, featuring the deep honey hue typical of the deposit.

Polishing a 24 cm diameter sphere from clear citrine is a workshop tour de force. The entire shape must emerge from a flawless rough block without micro-fractures, demanding months of grinding and polishing work.

The internal illumination is a curated enhancement: the transparent material becomes a light carrier, a traditional staging method for clear quartz in collector interiors.
