Description

A natural amethyst geode from Uruguay with fine crystals and a chalcedony rim. The shape and color intensity correspond to classic Uruguayan material with a compact, dark inner surface.

The rim combines grey agate and chalcedony. The back consists of volcanic basalt, the original host rock of the geode.

The rim banding has been ground and and polished. The fine amethyst crystals inside remained untouched and retained their natural point shape with sparkling facets.

A display geode with a full Uruguay profile: fine, compact crystals, a cleanly polished agate rim, and a basalt back as a geological marker.
