Sweet Kingfisher made of Sodalite and Carnelian on Tourmalated Quartz

A kingfisher made of sodalite and carnelian on a tourmalinated quartz base from Brazil. The bird figurine combines a deep blue sodalite body with an orange-red carnelian breast accent.

The color combination closely resembles the natural kingfisher plumage. Sodalite provides the characteristic rich blue coloration for the main body of the bird. Carnelian, a variety of quartz, offers warm red-orange tones due to iron substitutions.

Both materials originate from Brazilian deposits. Tourmalinated quartz used for the base is a special collector's classification for rock crystal with embedded tourmaline (schorl) needles.

The black schorl needles against the transparent quartz matrix create an optical contrast effect as a geological detail for the base.
