Pink Amethyst Geode Pair from Uruguay in great color

A pair of pink amethyst geodes from Uruguay, featuring the pink-violet coloration typical of the region and a fine crystalline point distribution.

Pink amethyst is a rare variety of amethyst, whose pink coloration is caused by hematite inclusions within the quartz crystal lattice. Unlike classic violet amethyst (colored by iron radiation color centers), pink amethyst gets its color from tiny iron oxide particles.

The deposits are exclusively found in a narrow zone in Artigas, Uruguay. Pink amethyst geodes are significantly rarer than common amethyst and are found in only a few deposits.

Both halves show the pink-violet coloration with delicate orange-red accents on some points, indicating concentrated hematite inclusions in these areas.
