Exceptional amethyst geode pair with a unique shape and great quality

A pair of amethyst geodes from Brazil in an unusual, almost crown-like shape with two pointed ends per half.

This double-pointed geode silhouette results from natural growth in a cavity with two bulges at the top, a rare shape variation in Brazilian deposits.

Amethyst belongs to the quartz family and crystallizes in the volcanic gas cavities of lava flows. The violet color is caused by tiny traces of iron in the crystal lattice, which are stimulated by natural radiation to form color centers.

The distribution of the points follows the unusual outer contour: denser points at the ends, looser distribution in the broad middle section.

Both halves show a consistent form pendant, suggesting that the original geode was split down the middle to create two mirror-image halves.
