A very deep and wide amethyst geode from Brazil, with balanced internal geometry and intense violet coloration. The round geode shape opens up to its full width, allowing the eye to dive directly into the violet interior.

Amethyst forms in volcanic geodes of the Serra Geral Basalt Formation from silica-rich solutions. The balanced dimensions indicate an originally round geode shape, in contrast to elongated tubular cavities from which slenderer geodes emerge.

The intense violet coloration is a marker for higher iron concentration in the solution reservoir combined with prolonged radiation exposure. Brazilian geodes show a wide spectrum of coloration; intensely colored pieces are rarer.

Extraction takes place from basalt layers several meters deep. Geodes with a wide, deep internal aperture allow the eye to delve into the violet interior. A collector's item with balanced dimensions and premium Brazilian coloring.
