Very beautiful, unique Citrine Geode Pair with Calcite Crystal from Brazil

A citrine geode pair from Brazil with an overgrown calcite crystal. The two halves show mirror-image growth geometry and can be displayed as an open double arrangement.

Geode pairs form when a geode breaks open along its central axis. When placed next to each other, their natural symmetry becomes legible again, and the interior of the geode is visible on both sides.

Citrine, as a yellow iron-containing quartz variety, crystallizes in volcanic geodes of the Serra Geral Basalt Formation. The calcite overgrowth, as a secondary mineralization phase, grew on already formed quartz points after the completion of the citrine growth.
