Great citrine geode pair with fantastic color and large double-terminated calcites

Citrine forms in volcanic geodes of the Serra Geral basalt formation from silica-rich solutions. The honey-yellow coloration comes from traces of trivalent iron. Brazilian geodes are among the most productive citrine deposits worldwide.

Double-terminated calcites are calcite crystals that crystallized on both ends, growing freely in the original cavity phase without adhering to a wall. With a citrine geode as the background, this is a rare multi-generational constellation: citrine phase first, then carbonate phase with the calcite double-terminations.
