Beautiful green fluorite point

A green fluorite point from Guilin, China with vibrant color and a smooth surface. Delicate, naturally grown quartz crystals are present as a secondary phase on one side.

Fluorite (CaF₂) crystallizes in the cubic system and exhibits perfect cleavage in four directions. The intense green coloration of this point comes from traces of yttrium and rare earth elements in the crystal structure.

The Guilin region in southern China is considered one of the most important fluorite deposits worldwide. The material has not been dyed; the color is entirely natural.

The point is particularly suitable for backlighting. Light shines through the stone and creates subtle internal plays of light along the cleavage planes.
