Beautiful green fluorite point

A green fluorite point from Guilin, China. Vivid green hue with naturally grown, delicate quartz crystals on one side, giving the piece a special depth.

Fluorite (CaF₂) is a cubic halide that naturally crystallizes in a variety of colors. The green variant is formed by low trace element concentrations in the crystal structure and is a classic occurrence in the South Chinese deposits.

The grown quartz crystals document a later mineralization phase. They sit as fine individual crystals on the fluorite surface and create an interesting growth layering structure.
