Chevron Amethyst point with beautiful marbling

A chevron amethyst point from Namibia with characteristic V-banding. Violet and white phases alternate in sharply defined V-lines.

Chevron amethyst forms in deposits with fluctuating iron concentrations during growth. Phases with high iron concentration produce violet amethyst, while phases with low iron substitution produce the white rock crystal component. The growth succession creates the V-shaped banding geometry.

The Brandberg deposits in Namibia are among the classic chevron provenances. The material quality is classified by the sharpness of the banding lines and the clarity of the two quartz phases.
