Chevron amethyst is a growth variety with alternating violet and white bands that form a V-pattern. The lines document changing iron concentrations during the crystallization phase.

Such slender chevron points are a deposit-specific morphological variant. The natural raw form is brought into its needle-like final geometry with minimal grinding.
