Rock Crystal - Double Terminated

Rock crystal is the colorless variety of quartz (SiO₂) with a Mohs hardness of 7 and a trigonal crystal system. Double-terminated crystals grow freely in cavities without an attachment point and therefore develop crystal points at both poles, which is rarer in nature than single terminations.

Brazilian rock crystals mostly come from the classic deposits of Minas Gerais. The clarity and the double termination make these double-terminated crystals a mineralogically textbook example with uniform crystallography.
