An amethyst heart with a wide rock crystal border and an agate layer, mounted on a metal stand. A premium piece with all three mineral layers of a Brazilian geode in one cut.

Such hearts are milled from the complete cross-section of an amethyst geode. On the outside, the light agate banding, in between a clear rock crystal rim, and in the center, the deep violet amethyst field. The complete growth chronology of the geode is visible in one object.

The wide rock crystal border is particularly interesting from a mineralogical perspective. Rock crystal is the colorless quartz variety, formed in the same growth process as amethyst. It merely lacks the specific iron-radiation combination that leads to the violet coloration.

The metal stand is solid and matte black, so that it visually recedes and allows the heart to take center stage.
