Beautiful citrine point with natural growth marks

A citrine point from Madagascar with particularly shimmering inclusions. The growth point is preserved as a natural fracture surface.

The shimmering internal structures are typically goethite or rutile needles. They refract light into metallic reflections.

Madagascan citrines belong to the rare category of natural, unheated citrine. Iron substitutions in the quartz lattice create the golden-yellow color directly from the deposit, without subsequent heat treatment. A gemologically valuable qualification.

The cutting process follows the natural hexagonal quartz geometry. Material of this size is routinely recovered from the Itasy deposits and processed into collector's items in the capital Antananarivo.
