Beautiful citrine point with rock crystal and natural growth formation

A Citrine Point from Madagascar with rock crystal inclusions and a natural attachment point. The combination of a polished tip and an unworked attachment point documents the original deposit geometry.

The deposits in the Itasy region of central Madagascar provide material from pegmatitic rocks with distinct iron substitution geochemistry. The natural attachment point is where the crystal was originally connected to the mother rock.

Madagascan citrines belong to the rare category of natural, unheated citrine. Iron substitutions in the quartz lattice create the golden-yellow color directly from the deposit. A gemologically valuable qualification without heat treatment.

The cutting process follows the natural hexagonal quartz geometry. Material of this size is routinely recovered from the Itasy deposits and processed into collector's items in the capital Antananarivo.
