Little parrot

A handmade parrot made of white calcite, blue calcite and sodalite. The figure combines various minerals into a multi-colored bird sculpture with a lifelike appearance.

The beak is made of onyx and provides a dark, contrasting accent. The bird sits on a rock crystal base, which adds additional structure to the piece with its clear points.

Calcite is calcium carbonate in a trigonal crystal structure. The blue variety usually gets its color from traces of copper. Sodalite provides the strong blue tones, onyx the black beak.
