A lilac amethyst geode pair from Brazil with intergrown calcite. Both halves show the same light color intensity and mirror-symmetrical internal geometry.
Lilac amethysts are a deposit-related color variant with a lower iron concentration than the typical deep-violet pieces. The lighter coloration indicates specific solution conditions during crystallization.
Geode pairs are formed when a geode breaks open along its central axis. The constellation of amethyst as the main phase and calcite as secondary mineralization indicates a two-phase genesis.
Brazilian geodes from Rio Grande do Sul provide this material. The paired presentation allows a double view of both halves, suitable for display on a nightstand or sideboard.
A Brazilian collector's item with light amethyst variety, calcite secondary mineralization, and mirror-symmetrical pair geometry.
