Amethyst Crystal - Single Point / Ametrine

Ametrine is a geologically unique variety of quartz. The only commercially viable deposit in the world is the Anahí mine in the Pantanal wetlands, Bolivia.

According to historical tradition, the mine was discovered in the 17th century by Spanish conquistadors. Anahí, the daughter of a local chief, is said to have been married to a conquistador and given him the mine as a dowry.

The original growth geometry of the crystal is preserved, without significant sculptural working. The two-zone coloration runs cleanly through the entire volume.
