Beautiful, light, tall amethyst geode from Brazil with a flower-shaped calcite crystal

A slender, 125 cm tall amethyst geode from Brazil, within whose violet inner wall a striking flower-shaped calcite crystal has grown. A two-mineral genesis in a stele-like geode specimen.

The flower-shaped calcite is a specific growth variant: densely packed scalenohedral pyramids that grow radially from a central core and visually resemble blooming flowers. A crystallographic aesthetic classified in mineralogy as flowering calcite.

The temporal sequence of mineralization can be read from the specimen: Amethyst phase first from silica-rich solutions, then carbonate phase with the calcite flower. A two-stage cavity genesis.
