Description

An amethyst geode from Brazil in a handy, balanced shape. Delicate lilac-colored amethyst crystals fill the interior. A clear, strong rock crystal rim, framed by a narrow border of red and white agate, forms the transition to the back.

The back shows the original volcanic host rock, a dark basalt. It bears witness to its formation in a gas bubble from the Cretaceous period, around 100 million years old.

The geode sits firmly in a robust metal stand and thus stands without any additional accessories. Brazil supplies this material from the classic deposits in Rio Grande do Sul and Minas Gerais.
