A Phantom Amethyst Point from Brazil. A columnar vertical shape with clearly visible phantom interiors, individual growth layers appear as geometric shadow contours inside the crystal.
Phantom structures are geological internal documents. Each phantom layer corresponds to a growth pause of the crystal over very long periods. The coating with iron oxide or chlorite between the quartz phases forms the geometric phantom geometry.
Brazilian deposits in the Serra-Geral Basalt Formation provide this material from ancient volcanic geodes. Phantom Amethyst is a premium gemological classification of the quartz family.
The mineralization mechanics can be reconstructed over millions of years. A first quartz phase grew, then iron or chlorite was deposited on the pyramid tip, before new quartz sealed it again and permanently preserved the phantom.
The slender columnar shape with a high height-to-width ratio emphasizes the vertical presentation, ideal for desk or display case placement.
A Brazilian collector's item with columnar geometry, premium phantom characteristics, and a handy display case format. With backlighting, the phantom layers become fully legible as geometric shadows inside the crystal. The growth history over millions of years is directly readable in the enclosed coating lines as a geological archive.
Protect from direct sunlight, may fade over time. Dry clean with a soft cloth.
