Description

A phantom amethyst point from Brazil in a compact three-axis shape with pronounced depth. The phantom structures inside appear as fine geometric lines within the purple quartz.

Phantom lines are formed by interrupted growth episodes over geological periods. A thin mineral coating is deposited on the crystal faces during a growth pause.

When growth resumes, these coatings are enclosed and remain visible as geometric phantom lines. Each line marks a specific growth episode.

Brazilian geodes in Rio Grande do Sul provide this material. The Serra Geral Basalt Formation originated approximately 130 million years ago during the Jurassic-Cretaceous transition.
