Citrine is the yellow quartz variety, colored by traces of trivalent iron. Zambian material from Kalomo is considered a premium source for naturally grown gemstone-quality citrine. The deposit has been established as an important supplier in the international collector's trade since the 1980s.

The cut follows the natural growth geometry of the crystal and emphasizes its translucency. With internal lighting, the crystal becomes a light carrier, a traditional form of presentation for transparent quartz.

The root wood base is a handcrafted addition. The organic, grown wood contrasts with the mineral-crystalline substance of the citrine. The material tension is part of the artistic concept.
