Amethyst specimens are free-standing mineral aggregates where the crystal face is exposed. Unlike a geode, a specimen only shows one crystalline display side, not a cross-section of a cavity.

The coloration results from iron inclusions in the quartz lattice, combined with natural gamma radiation over geological timeframes. A versatile choice for a display case or desk.
