Amethyst Crystal - Single Point / Ametrine

An ametrine crystal from Bolivia with distinct two-color symbolism. The purple amethyst zone and the yellow citrine zone lie directly adjacent to each other, separated by a visibly sharp boundary line within the same crystal body.

The two colors represent the union of opposing energies. Amethyst and citrine are traditionally assigned to different chakras; in ametrine, both are united simultaneously.

Ametrine is a geologically unique variety of quartz. Purple amethyst and yellow citrine are found in a single crystal, separated by a sharp geometric boundary line.

The only globally commercially viable deposit is the Anahí mine in the Pantanal wetlands, Bolivia. According to historical tradition, it was discovered by Spanish conquistadors in the 17th century.

The daughter of a local chieftain, named Anahí, is said to have been married to a conquistador and given him the mine as a dowry.
