Beautiful red Tiger's Eye (Cat's Eye) sphere

A sphere of red tiger's eye (cat's eye) from South Africa. The stone displays an intense, reddish-brown color with lively banding and a fine, silky shimmering chatoyancy.

Red tiger's eye is formed by heating or geologically elevated temperatures, which oxidize the iron in the crocidolite pseudomorph. This process transforms the original yellow-brown fiber structures into a red hue.

When rotated, the silky streak of light moves across the surface, following the fiber axis. This makes the sphere appear different from every angle and shows a dynamic shimmer in changing light.
