Beautiful sphere of red tiger's eye (cat's eye)

A sphere of red tiger's eye from South Africa, also called cat's eye. Intense red-brown coloring with naturally vibrant grain and silky shimmer.

Tiger's eye is a quartz pseudomorph after fibrous crocidolite. The red variety is formed by low heat exposure in the deposit or by controlled heat treatment of the rough stone. The parallel fiber structure creates the characteristic chatoyancy effect.

South African deposits, especially in the Griqualand West region, are considered the main source of collector-quality tiger's eye. The sphere shape is a classic gallery variant with a calm reading aesthetic.
