Citrine Crystal Skulls

A natural citrine crystal skull, hand-carved from Zambia. The skull is almost entirely clear and displays the warm golden color typical of natural citrine with almost transparent clarity.

Zambia is one of the few countries that supplies natural citrine with such clarity. Most pieces sold as citrine are actually heat-treated amethysts; genuine natural citrine is considerably rarer.

The sculpture follows the tradition of esoteric crystal skulls as contemplative objects. The manual grinding and polishing work follows the anatomy of the head and gives the citrine an unusual figurative form.
