An iron meteorite pendant from Campo del Cielo, Argentina in 925 sterling silver. The individual piece has a particularly distinctive fusion crust exterior, which formed during the meteorite's atmospheric entry at temperatures above 1500°C.

The fusion-crust surface documents the last seconds of the meteorite fall: friction with the Earth's atmosphere heated the outer layer to melting temperatures, while the core remained cosmically cold (-270°C). This temperature difference between the outside and inside is characteristic and a marker of authenticity.

Geochemically, Campo del Cielo material shows 6.7% nickel content, 0.4% cobalt, as well as traces of phosphorus, sulfur, carbon, and iridium. The iridium anomaly is particularly significant, extremely rare on Earth's surface, but common in meteorites.
