Unique Amethyst Geode with Calcite Twin Crystal and Pink Amethyst Crystals

An exceptional amethyst specimen from Uruguay with three mineral phases in one piece: purple amethyst, pink pink amethyst, and a central calcite twin crystal.

Calcite twins form when two crystal axes grow from a common root point along different crystallographic axes but are mirrored along a plane of symmetry. A rare mineralization specialty.

Pink amethyst is formed by hematite inclusions in the quartz crystal lattice; classic purple amethyst by iron radiation color centers. Both phases in one geode document changing chemical conditions during mineralization.

Found exclusively in a narrow zone in Artigas, Uruguay. Specimens with this three-mineral composition are extremely rare on the market.

What makes this specimen special is the trio mineralization in a single cavity: three clearly separated phases are visible as layers.
