Extraordinary heart made of grey-blue-reddish agate and rock crystal

An exceptional heart made of marbled agate with an embedded rock crystal geode from Brazil. Grey-blue and reddish banding alternates with clear rock crystal sections.

Agate is a banded variety of chalcedony. The color zones are formed from iron and manganese-containing solutions that penetrate volcanic cavities in layers. The contrasting appearance testifies to a long mineralization process.

The back is also cut and polished. Applied agate eyes with concentric rings are a characteristic feature of Brazilian deposits. The heart can be viewed as a complete piece from both sides.

The combination of banded matrix and transparent druse chamber makes the piece mineralogically instructive. Form, color scheme, and double-sided polishing combine to create a balanced heart composition.
