Great amethyst heart with large calcite blossom in a metal stand

An amethyst heart with a prominent calcite flower as the central mineral element, presented on a black metal stand.

The calcite flower is a rare growth form: multiple calcite crystal axes grow outwards in a star shape from a common root point, forming a flower-like aggregate. It formed as a later mineralization phase after the amethyst growth, from residual solutions that still circulated in the geode after the quartz phase.

Amethyst belongs to the quartz family. The purple coloration is caused by iron trace elements in the crystal lattice under natural irradiation over millennia.

The heart shape is created by selective cutting from a larger geode. The open inner shape, in which the calcite flower stands freely, is a deliberate decision by the cutter.

What makes this piece special is the double mineralization: amethyst points and calcite flower in a single heart, both formed in different geological phases.

A collector's item of the highest class, suitable as an emotional gift or a central accent.
