Beautiful Phantom Amethyst point from Brazil

A phantom amethyst point from Brazil in a particularly slender, almost needle-like columnar geometry. The polished quartz wall reveals several phantom layers as fine geometric lines inside the crystal.

The phantom structures are particularly visible in the slender crystal. The lower material density allows more light to pass through, and each phantom layer appears as a wafer-thin geometric line inside.

Phantom structures are formed by interruptions in growth. A thin mineral layer, often iron oxide or chlorite, is deposited on the crystal faces and becomes enclosed within the crystal as growth resumes.

Brazilian deposits in Rio Grande do Sul provide premium material with this needle-like geometry. Slender phantom pieces are a separate form classification in the collector's market because phantom visibility is optimal here.
