Citrine Double Terminated Crystal in great color

A citrine double-terminated crystal from Brazil in a deep golden color gradation. Both ends are formed as clean pyramids, with a clear hexagonal column in the middle between the points.

Double-terminated crystals grow freely in the geode solution, without being connected to the geode wall. Both ends form into points. This configuration documents the free movement of the crystal in the solution during growth.

Brazilian citrine deposits in Rio Grande do Sul supply this material from the Serra Geral Basalt Formation. The natural golden color is created by iron substitutions in the quartz lattice, without subsequent heat treatment.

Citrine belongs to the quartz family with a Mohs hardness of 7. The hexagonal crystal structure is equally clearly visible at both ends of the double termination.
