Citrine Double Terminated Crystal

A Citrine double-terminated crystal from Brazil in a compact collector's format. Both ends are terminated points, with a uniformly warm golden tone over the entire length of the crystal.

Double-terminated crystals grow freely in the geode solution, without being connected to the geode wall. This configuration documents the free movement of the crystal in the solution during growth.

Brazilian citrine deposits in Rio Grande do Sul supply this material from the Serra-Geral basalt formation. The natural golden color is created by iron substitutions in the quartz lattice, without subsequent heat treatment.

Natural, unheated citrine is a distinct class gemologically. A large part of the market consists of heated amethyst, which only acquires the citrine color during the heating process. Such pieces differ in color from the natural material.

The compact format makes the piece a classic jewelry or collector's item. Double-terminated crystals are a separate classification in the collector's market compared to standard single-terminated points.
