Citrine double terminated crystal with smoky quartz

A citrine double terminator with smoky quartz transition from Brazil. At one tip, the golden citrine transitions into opaque smoky quartz.

This color gradient is mineralogically interesting. Aluminum impurities plus natural radiation in the deposit have darkened part of the crystal, while the rest remained clear and yellow. The transition is sharp and clearly visible.

Both ends are terminated, and the inclusions shimmer in rainbow colors in places. A collector's item with character, not just a beautiful point.
